AlertSF has just excitedly announced that:
The H1N1 vaccine clinic is open at Bill Graham Auditorium. No waiting line at 2:30pm. If you want an H1N1 vaccine the timing doesn’t get better.
This, of course, is in reference to the rather “V”ish “mass vaccination clinic open to high risk folks (pregnant women, young people ages 6 months to 24 years old, healthcare and emergency responders and adults through 64 years old with flu-exacerbating medical conditions) until 7 PM today. (SFGate has a nice little gallery of folks getting shots if you dig that kind of thing.)
But, really? “If you want an H1N1 vaccine the timing doesn’t get better”? You’re doling out shots, not used Camrys, AlertSF. Cool it.
Or, as Appeal staffer Becca Hirschman put it: “Come one, come all, well not all, but hey you, ms. immune-deficient, preggers, elderly, and toddlerish–it’s time to get your shot! It’s totally safe. Let me spritz your nostrils. C’mon, vaccines are fun! What, you want a lollipop? Um, we don’t have the budget for that. We spent it all on the AlertSF notice that just went out to the entire city. Sucker.”
