Here’s an update on our outstanding SF Fixes issues:

First, some good news: I first reported the squalid and lightless conditions on Plum Street to 311 on July 30st. The area has since been cleaned and a new street lamp installed.

I reported on the rat’s nest on Folsom on July 30. 311 passed the request on to the Department of Public Health since they are mandated to do so by law. I had some difficulty reaching the DPH at first, but we finally connected a few weeks ago — however, as of this writing, the nest remains unfilled. I will call the DPH again today to place a second complaint.

On August 24th I followed up on our July 17th report of a broken ticket machine at EMB and Folsom. Given the news that the MTA will be replacing all fare gates next year, we asked MTA spokesperson Judson True if Muni planned on fixing this or any subsequent ticketing malfunctions, or if they’d just wait for the upgrades next year. True told us he was checking in to this, but we haven’t received another response. I followed up with another email today.

We’ll stay on these issues, with more, new Fixes to follow this month. As always, if you see something needs fixing, report it here on our SeeClickFix map, and we’ll follow up.
