bedpan.jpgThe Presidio Trust will be auctioning off various historical items this coming Friday, August 28th. Collectors will be able to bid on furniture and various other items left behind when the Army departed in 1994.

These salvaged items include anything from wooden tables and cabinets to cast iron bathtubs, sinks, clocks, and appliances. Some items are nothing short of bizarre-I’d say false teeth, urinals, and an old $500 psychiatric couch definitely fall into this category. A lot of these historical leftovers come from the old Letterman Hospital (guess that explains the bedpan washing machine).

All items are being held in an old commissary building. The auction will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday August 28th, at the Herbst International Exhibition Hall at the Presidio (385 Moraga Ave.). Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. Be sure to bring a photo i.d. along with a tax i.d. or ssn.
