An missive from the IllumiBARTi: “I can report that it’s July 1 and TransLink is STILL not working on BART yet. C’mon, people!!!”

As you might recall, BART spokesperson Linton Johnson told us the “soft launch” (that is, when the TL transponders will get turned on and work but BART won’t make any announcement saying so, because it’s soft, you see) would take place “early in the summer.”

Let’s pull out The Old Farmer’s Almanac. It says that Summer Solstice, commonly thought of as the middle of the summer, was June 21. So, we’ve missed the “early summer” deadline, which is too bad.

Keep trying your TransLink card, folks. One hap hap happy day it’ll work, at which time we fully expect you to tell us so we can tell the world. Such is the code of the IllumiBARTi.
