The CASC should be so ashamed of themselves. Note this quote from today's ruling:
"The court further unanimously held that the scope of Proposition 8 is narrow, limited solely to restricting the use of the term “marriage” to opposite-sex couples, while not otherwise affecting the fundamental constitutional rights of same-sex couples described in its earlier opinion in In re Marriage Cases (2008) 43 Cal.4th 757."
NOW a quote from last May 2008 ruling which ruled that same sex couples are entitled to FULL marriage rights.
"One of the core elements of the right to establish
an officially recognized family that is embodied in the California constitutional
right to marry is a couple’s right to have their family relationship accorded dignity
and respect equal to that accorded other officially recognized families, and
assigning a different designation for the family relationship of same-sex couples
while reserving the historic designation of “marriage” exclusively for opposite-sex
couples poses at least a serious risk of denying the family relationship of same-sex
couples such equal dignity and respect."
The CASC has the NERVE to DIRECTLY contracdict themselves and they should be forever ashamed of themselves for what they have done today!!

There is no doubt we will win this war in the end but what the CASC has done today has put a severe dent in California's history - NEVER before has the Constitution been AMENDED to take away a fundamental right.
I APPLAUD Justice Moreno today in having the courage to voice his dissenting opinion and to do the RIGHT thing, but all the rest will have to live with what they have done to our state today!!

Not only must we continue the fight to undo the damange caused by Prop 8's passage but we MUST amend the Constitution to make sure that NEVER again can the AMENDMENT process be ABUSED to take away another's FUNDAMENTAL rights.
This is a sad day for everyone who believes in true equality but we will win this fight in the end!
Stand tall and continue the good fight my friends!
