Is Oscar Grant sooooooo over, and Tristan Anderson the new hotness? Protesters, please help us understand what appears to be a one size fits all mentality.

UPDATE: Indybay self-estimates the crowd* at “several hundred.” and has posted pictures of the rally here.

A protest to signify support of injured local activist Tristan Anderson resulted in some — we’re not sure yet how much — police activity this evening. An on-scene source sent these updates via IM — more details if and when we receive them.

6:23 PM Batons out at 5th and market at Tristan protest

6:24 PM They tried to arrest 2 jaywalkers and got rushed.

6:26 PM Guy w/ bullhorn says march towards Israeli consulate.

6:53 PM Cops got caught in traffic and about 50 ran. Protesters placed cafe chairs in the street and recycled as blockade. Possible window smashed. It got interesting again. But I’m not taking photos cuz I’m not Josh Wolf.

6:53 PM Batons used. 2 arrested. Robinson was aggressive officer

7:13 PM Think it’s near over… cops telling people they are loitering. Whole block blocked off by cops.
