UPDATE: After Eddy Pak asked us “What about those who have Transbay passes?” we thought, hmm, and what about TransLink? So we contacted Zog’s, who told us “Zog’s Dogs would be more than happy to also open up this offer to people with TransLink and Transbay passes!”

So, there you go, kids. They open at 10, get there before they run out!

Zog’s Dogs, the hotdog place “straddling the Market Street edge of One Post Plaza downtown,” emailed us last night to tell us about their free hot dog promotion planned for today.

“With the bridge falling down, free hot dogs are coming up!” they say. Here’s the deal: show your BART ticket at Zog’s today, get a free Zog’s Dog (this is their basic model) reformatted as a “Bay Bridge dog,” by being broken in half. In their words, “Zog’s Dogs does not endorse broken bridges, but does endorse giving free food to those who must suffer through the consequences.”

The promotion will be going on all day today, at least, while supplies last, with no purchase necessary. They open at 10 AM today.
