metreon_01.jpgOur friends at Eater SF don’t seem completely sold on the Island Earth Farmers Market and Community Exchange (key quote: “a very curious development that should be quite interesting to watch unfold”). One of the most obvious reasons for that studied neutrality is that this is a farmers market run by someone completely new to farmers markets and that takes place in the dimly lit, faux-Vegas splendor of the Metreon.

While it doesn’t open until tomorrow, we’re told that “members of the media” can “preview” the market today, as vendors will be setting up between noon and 6 p.m. And, baby, this is 2009 and THE MEDIA IS US. So, stop by and let us know how things are looking. And, if you send us pics, we’ll send you whatever free schwag we have lying around the office.
