Some may consider old objects, especially transportation, regal, but BART is in dire need of upgrades. They’ve got the oldest train cars in the nation and they definitely show their age. That’s why this Sunday, BART is holding its first of nine Seat Lab shindigs. Riders are invited to help BART with feedback on what they’d like to see in new BART cars, as the program is part of their “Fleet of the Future” research campaign.
The Seat Lab really is as it sounds: an opportunity to test out new BART car seats. BART is also seeking additional feedback on how they can make their cars better. This past Monday and Tuesday, BART presented their Seat Lab to elected officials and groups with special needs as part of the first round of public feedback. Starting Sunday, however, they’re taking the Lab to the masses.
There will be one meeting in each BART district. The Seat Lab schedule will be available at www.bart.gov/cars.
