This Saturday marks the 105th anniversary of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and SF is feeling nostalgic. There are three special events planned to commemorate the disaster, all of which will be dedicated to the Japanese Quake that occurred March 11th.
What: The 1906 Great Quake’s 105th anniversary and events to commemorate it.
When: Monday, April 18th; the earthquake reunion starts at 5:12 AM, the commemorative fire-hydrant painting begins at 5:40 AM, and Lefty O’Doul’s Bloody Mary breakfast runs from 6:30 AM-11 AM
Where: The reunion meets at Lotta’s, on the corner of Kearny and Market St. The fire hydrant painting is at the top of Dolores Park on Church and 20th St. Lefty O’Doul’s is located at 333 Geary St.
Cost: Free, save for the breakfast at Lefty O’Doul’s, which is $20.

All of San Francisco is invited to join the remaining survivors of the Great Quake for the annual gathering around Lotta’s fountain at 5:13 AM on April 18.
At 5:40 AM, Dolores Park’s heroic fire hydrant–the lone working one that saved so many of SF’s structures after the devastating quake–will be given its yearly new coat of gold paint.
History gets even more interactive come 6:30 AM, when Lefty O’Doul’s starts its Great Quake And Fire Survivor’s Bloody Mary Breakfast.
It’s a costumed breakfast, as all attending are encouraged to come in period costumes or dress as politicians, police or firefighters of that era.
