Show your veg pride this weekend at the 11th annual World Vegetarian Day festival in Golden Gate Park hosted by the folks at The San Francisco Vegetarian Society. Celebrate with a fabulous two-day party featuring cooking demos, vegan merch, Veggie Speed Dating, a vegan fashion show, and a number of outstanding speakers. Regardless of your dietary preferences, it’s a perfect opportunity to sample delicious healthy cuisine and to check-out what the vegetarian lifestyle is all about.
At the risk of being flamed by the bacon and offal fans of SF, I will say that adopting a plant-based diet can have benefits for your own health, the environment, and, of course, the welfare of animals.
And if you’re still not sold, consider that you can win $1,000 if you give up meat for the month of October (enter contest here).
