An invention-competition for college-age innovators reaches its climax at a free exhibition on Saturday, March 27 at the Exploratorium: the amazing inventions will be unveiled to the public and a winning creation will be crowned.
Be forewarned, however: there is a distinct lack of fiendishness and diabolical intent in the submissions. What is up with all this humanitarian relief, ecological innovation, and medical break-though? We remember the good old days, when science was mad. MAD I TELL YOU.
Anyway, if you’d like a sneak-preview of the inventions and to vote on your favorite, you can check out video-pitches for each one courtesy of Inventor’s Digest. Each submission seeks to make the world a better place: a human-powered nebulizer to administer medicine, a bandage for eye wounds, a new method for irrigation, and a wireless solar panel are among the competing creations. Kids, these are all great, but you’ll never make your first million if it doesn’t have an integrated tie rack.
