So, we got this release last week:
RadioShack stores in San Francisco will be open Thanksgiving Day, allowing customers the opportunity to get a jumpstart on their holiday shopping. THE SHACK will be offering pre-Black Friday specials on merchandise throughout the store.
Most stores are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but store hours vary across the country, so customers should check with their local store for specific times. For more information about exact store locations and store hours, visit www.radioshack.com/thanksgiving.
Typically, when I get email like this, I just send it on to our ad guy (which is typically fruitless, as plenty of sites will just use press releases as articles, negating the need for companies to buy ads and therefore keeping our contributors poorly paid. SO THANKS FOR THAT.), but this release made me think: is it possible that there is anywhere in San Francisco more depressing to be on Thanksgiving than a Radio Shack? I mean, even the godamned homeless shelters have, like Craig Newmark there spreading cheer.
If you can think of somewhere that will burn off one’s serotonin faster than T-day at “The Shack,” well, that’s what comments are for.
