Dear Babe,

I’m dating this guy, he’s cute and funny and he seems pretty smart but his grammar is TERRIBLE. So terrible that it’s torture to listen to him talk because I have to cringe just knowing that bad grammar is right around the corner.

I really like him but his grammar is killing me. How can I help him improve his grammar?

Thanks,
Grammar Crazy

Dear Grammar Crazy,

End the relationship. I’ve also dated men with terrible grammar and broken up with them because of it. Not because their grammar was bad, but because if I can’t appreciate someone simply because they misuse words now and then, I must not really like them.

Both of you deserve someone who is excited about you, regardless of your tiny flaws. Stop wasting his time and your own.

The minute you want to try to change someone take it as a sign that you don’t like them or respect them enough to have a really good relationship and move on.

xx,
Babe
