Dancers get tough when the economy turns sour. “People would rather give up a meal than a dance class,” Every Little Step‘s co-filmmaker James D. Stern said. “When they get to Broadway, they never make any money.”
With directors/producers Stern and Adam Del Dao in attendance, Every Little Step showed to a packed Castro Theatre on Sunday night of the San Francisco Film Festival. Geared mostly toward Broadway fans, the documentary explores the auditions process of the 2006 revival of A Chorus Line.
And we can’t really tell you much more than that, as the filmmakers are asking the press to hold reviews until a wider release. The film opened to a limited amount of theaters last week in Los Angeles and New York and will open May 8 in San Francisco.
