  Hi Mark: Sorry u had a problem with the cookies, let me try and help. If your dough was "crumbly" then something is definitely wrong because with all that melted butter this dough should be smooth, shiny and ultra-moist! Was your brown sugar fresh and moist? Old brown sugar is dry and crumbly and results in a dry, crumbly baked good. Too much flour can result in a crumbly dough as well. Did you use one whole egg and one egg yolk only? If you used two whole eggs the cookies will be cakey instead of chewy. Hope this helps!...
