Homeless Man Found Beaten To Death In Golden Gate Park IDed

A homeless man killed Saturday morning near Kezar Stadium in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park has been identified by the medical examiner's office as 53-year-old Michael Ponder.
Ponder was found at about 7:30 a.m. near the stadium in the southeastern part of the park, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Ponder appeared to have died as a result of an assault.
Police have not made any arrests in connection with his death.
