BART trains headed to the East Bay from San Francisco were delayed Monday evening when a medical emergency was reported at one station and police responded to a report of a patron hitting a child at another.
The trains were experiencing delays at about 5:15 p.m. after a medical emergency was reported at the Embarcadero station in San Francisco, BART spokesman Linton Johnson said by e-mail.
He said BART police also responded to reports of a rider hitting a child on a train in the East Bay.
Police stopped the train at the West Oakland station to investigate, he said.
Although the trains were running again by 5:15 p.m., BART was still recovering from 20-minute delays at about 5:50 p.m., Johnson said.
