A man who was shot in the head in the Bayview-Hunters Point District this morning has been identified by the San Francisco medical examiner’s office as 29-year-old Lacey Edwards.

The call came in at about 3:10 a.m. for a shooting at West Point and Middle Point roads, San Francisco police Officer Samson Chan said.

The shooting happened in an area where there is a lot of criminal and gang activity, according to Chan.

Edwards, who lived in San Francisco, was pronounced dead at the intersection, he said.
Another person was also shot in the same neighborhood this morning. A male victim was shot at Third Street and Evans Avenue.

The victim was shot at a gas station and taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered to be life threatening, Chan said. He said that shooting was reported before 4 a.m.
