San Francisco police are searching for a 67-year-old man who they say shot a family member in the leg outside a church on Thursday in a dispute over the family's carpet cleaning business, police said.

Police said the suspect, Yuji Baba, confronted and shot the victim, an adult male family member, at about 9 a.m. Thursday outside the front door of the Salvation Army San Francisco Korean Church at 4000 19th Avenue, and then fled.

The 55-year-old victim, whose name and exact relationship to Baba were not released by police, is expected to survive. Police also did not discuss the exact nature of the dispute.

Police believe Baba may have headed toward Santa Clara, and may be driving either a dark-colored American-made sedan or a 1991 Lexus with the California license plate 2XWS603.

Baba was armed with a black semiautomatic handgun and is considered dangerous, police said. He is 5 feet 4 inches tall and 143 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black jacket.

Anyone who sees him is advised not to confront him but instead call 911, police said.
