Prosecutors today charged a San Francisco man with murder for allegedly stabbing an acquaintance to death with a knife early Saturday inside his apartment in the Tenderloin neighborhood.
Phuc Le (Police and prosecutors today revised the spelling of the suspect’s name to Phuc Le. Police had previously spelled it Phuck Lee), 42, was detained for questioning and later arrested after calling police at 1:12 a.m. to report the stabbing. He flagged down police in front of his building in the 600 block of Ellis Street.
Officers found him with blood on his hands and clothing, police said.
The victim, Tuan Nguyen, 36, of San Francisco, was found dead of a stab wound to the chest inside Le’s apartment, police said.
Police have not disclosed the relationship between the two, other than to say they “were acquaintances.” A possible motive has also not been released, though police have said the two had been drinking inside the apartment.
Police said today they are not looking for any other suspects.
Le is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning in San Francisco Superior Court on one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon, according to district attorney’s office spokesman Brian Buckelew.
