Police in San Francisco are investigating the death of a person whose body was found this morning in a burned out vehicle in the city's Bayview neighborhood.
San Francisco fire crews responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 1200 block of Van Dyke Avenue at Ingalls Street at around 1:20 a.m., Officer Boaz Mariles said.
A dead body was discovered inside the burned vehicle, Mariles said.
Arson investigators from the Police Department were called to the site of the fire.
An investigation into the nature of the victim's death and identity was under way.
