Memory Walk
On Saturday the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk will be held on Treasure Island from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The 108 Treasure Island will be affected.

U.S. Navy Fleet Week
On Saturday and Sunday, the Parade of Ships, two air shows, and a music festival will be held to celebrate the U.S. Navy Fleet Week. These events will impact the Fisherman’s Wharf area and the Marina District.

The celebration will begin on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with the Parade of Ships and continue on Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 4 p.m. with the air show and ship tours.

Muni’s 47 Van Ness bus route and F Market & Wharves streetcar line will be supplemented on Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the crowds for these events. CVS Pharmacy will sponsor rides on the F Line, which will be free for riders all day Saturday and Sunday.

Ten Ten Flag Raising
On Saturday the Chinese Ten Ten Celebration will be observed by a flag raising ceremony on Stockton Street between Sacramento Street and Clay Street at 10 a.m. SFPD will monitor traffic. Muni buses will be allowed through the area.

Burning Man Decompression Event
The Burning Man Decompression Event on Sunday will require the following street closures from 7 a.m., Sunday to 2 a.m., Monday:
Indiana Street from Mariposa Street to 22nd Street
19th Street from Minnesota Street to Indiana Street
20th Street from Minnesota Street to Indiana Street
Intersection of 19th, 20th, and Indiana streets

The 22 Filmore Muni route may experience heavier ridership.

Italian Heritage Parade
On Sunday, the annual Italian Heritage Day Parade will be held in North Beach and Fisherman’s Wharf beginning at 12:30 p.m. from Jefferson and Powell streets. The parade will head west on Jefferson to Leavenworth Street, south on Leavenworth, south on Columbus Avenue north on Stockton, west on Filbert past the reviewing stage, and north on Powell where the parade units will disband.

The parade formation will require the following closures, beginning at 8 a.m.:
Beach Street from Powell Street to Stockton Street
North Point Street from Mason Street to The Embarcadero
Powell Street from Chestnut Street to Beach Street
Francisco Street from Stockton Street to Mason Street
Stockton Street from Bay Street to North Point Street

The parade route will be closed to traffic until the parade clears.

The following Muni lines will be affected:

F Market & Wharves
9X Bayshore Express
10 Townsend
30 Stockton
39 Coit
45 Union/Stockton
47 Van Ness

Holiday Muni Schedule and Parking Enforcement
On the Columbus Day holiday, Muni will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Parking meters will be enforced citywide on the holiday. Commuter tow away, residential parking permits and Monday-Friday street sweeping will not be enforced. Hazards are always subject to citation and towing.

Oracle World
Howard Street is scheduled to be closed between 3rd and 4th streets continuously for nine days beginning at 8 p.m., Thursday, October 8 through 8 p.m., Friday, October 16 to accommodate the event. In previous years the closure has lifted as early as 3 p.m. on the final Friday.

Significant traffic congestion is anticipated in and around Moscone Center between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily for the duration of the closure. Travelers are encouraged to take public transit or use alternate routes.

Howard Street primary detour routes:

1.For those traveling westbound on Howard Street, the detour will direct traffic south on 2nd Street to Harrison Street.

2.For those traveling from north of Market on Montgomery, the detour will direct southbound traffic from New Montgomery, westbound on Howard, and south on Hawthorne to either Folsom or Harrison.

Detour signs and traffic message boards are installed along Howard Street and the detour routes. Caltrans has activated message signs on major freeways entering the city to notify motorists of the closure.

SFMTA Parking Control Officers and San Francisco Police Officers will be deployed at key intersections prior to and during the closure.

The SFMTA’s Parking and Traffic Division and Muni Operations have worked closely with the Mayor’s Office, the San Francisco Police Department and the San Francisco Fire Department in developing the traffic control plan. Attached is a detailed PDF map of the event location showing detour routes provided by the Oracle World event organizers.
