kraftmacaroniandcheese.jpgComfort food for uncomfortable times is the rallying cry behind several Bay Area restaurants seeking to provide an updated twist on classic American foods.

“We’re offering food that satisfies desires for the flavors of traditional American hometown cooking,” says Peter Snyderman of Trademark, in the City’s Financial District.

Scott Howard, executive Chef of Five in Berkley said “with the current economy, people are looking for familiar and comfortable things.”

True. We’re just not looking to pay uncomfortable prices.
