The San Francisco Appeal’s primary revenue source is the advertising seen by our readers on our pages. Therefore, we’re super-motivated to work with advertisers to make things as simple, easy and transparent for them — we’re not going to try to sell you an ad without making sure you know what you’re getting, where it’s going to go, and how many people are going to see it.

The process is really simple.

1. Pick an ad space
The Appeal presently runs 728×90 banner ads at the top and bottom of each page, a 160×600 ad in our right column, and 300×250 box ads throughout the site. You can see examples of all of these on this page.

2. Decide where you want your ad to go
You choose where your ad will appear, right down to the specific page. You can get as specific as to buy an ad that appears next to one specific article, or go as big as buying an ad that will be seen by every visitor to any page of this site. The sky’s the limit.

The Appeal’s traffic has grown steadily since our launch on March 6, 2009, with our heaviest usage on weekdays between 9-5. We’re happy to share detailed metrics from Google Analytics and Chartbeat with potential advertisers, too.
