Man Slashed In Face, Robbed In Civic Center Area

A man was slashed in the face and robbed during a fight with another man in San Francisco’s Civic Center area Tuesday night, police said today.

The victim, a 49-year-old man, got into an argument with a man in his early 20s in the area of 11th and Market streets shortly before 10:20 p.m., according to police.

The argument escalated into a fight and the suspect then allegedly cut the victim in the face with a knife, stole his backpack and fled. He was last seen traveling east on Mission Street, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

No arrest had been reported in the case as of this morning.

Is 11th “Civic Center” area still? Did you write it that way to not spook the Twitter building people? “Oh, don’t worry Chad, it was in CIVIC CENTER, we’re still fine.”

I guess the victim was blind. No physical description of the man with whom he argued, who cut his face open with a knife, and who robbed him of his belongings.
