Police Ask Public To Help Find Missing Elderly Woman

San Francisco police are asking the public for help in locating a missing woman who hasn’t checked in with her family since Valentine’s Day.

Lani Uchida, 73, usually stays in single-room occupancy hotels in San Francisco and calls her family every Sunday from a payphone on the Embarcadero, police said today.

The last time she spoke to her family was on Feb. 15th, however, and she has not been heard from since.

Uchida has a medical condition and is in need of medication.

Anyone who knows of Uchida’s whereabouts or has seen her should call police or dial 911. Non-emergency tips can be made by calling (415) 575-4444 or texting to TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
