Nearly 10K Riders Used VTA To Get To, From Super Bowl 50

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority delivered nearly 10,000 Super Bowl fans to and from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday, according to VTA officials.

Around 60 percent of the ridership on the light-rail line traveled between the stadium and the Caltrain station in Mountain View, according to VTA officials.

There were no reported service issues with trains that took fans to and from the big game, which was won by the Denver Broncos 24-10 over the Carolina Panthers.

VTA officials said security was high on the line, with help from law enforcement agencies and K-9 teams from across the country, including Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle and Southern California.
