Police Seek Thieves Who Took Handbags From Fillmore Store

Three bandits last month stole more than $1,700 in handbags before running out of a retail store in San Francisco’s Fillmore District, police said.

The suspects entered the store at 5:05 p.m. on Dec. 28 in the 2100 block of Fillmore Street.

According to surveillance video, the suspects went directly to a display case near the entrance of the store and two of them grabbed handbags and fled almost immediately, police said.

A clerk tried the stop one of the suspects but was unsuccessful.

Police have released the surveillance footage and are asking for help in identifying the thieves. Anyone with information is asked to call the department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the beginning of the message.
