$1 Million Going to Scratchers Lottery Game Winner

The California Lottery is giving a $1 million prize in the $20 Million $$ Match Scratchers game, lottery officials said Wednesday.

Janet Smith won the prize after buying a ticket at the Safeway store at 350 Bay St. in the North Waterfront neighborhood of San Francisco, according to lottery officials.

The store’s owner will get $5,000 from lottery officials for selling the ticket to Smith, the officials said.

Scratchers’ players have two second chances to win with their non-winning ticket, according to lottery officials.

Players who enter the codes from the tickets into the lottery’s website will be entered into a weekly drawing for $25,000 through the 2nd Chance Program, lottery officials said.

Or players who enter codes from Scratchers tickets with the 30th anniversary logo have a chance to win $30,000 after they enter those codes into the lottery’s website, according to lottery officials.
