Occupant Ejected From Vehicle in Mission Suffers Critical Injuries

An occupant of a vehicle suffered critical injuries when he was ejected from a vehicle during a traffic collision early Sunday morning in San Francisco’s Mission District, police said.

At about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, the driver of a black four-door Volkswagen made an illegal driving maneuver on South Van Ness Avenue between 15th and 16th streets, according to police.

As the driver of the Volkswagen was making the illegal maneuver, another vehicle struck his car, causing a male occupant of that vehicle to be ejected, officers said.

The victim suffered a head injury, collapsed lung and fractured thighbone. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the crash.
