Wanted Parolee Arrested After Police Pursuit

A wanted parolee was arrested in San Francisco this evening after leading authorities on a pursuit and crashing into two cars near the edge of the city’s South of Market neighborhood, according to police.

The incident started in the Bayview district around 5:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Innes Avenue. Officers tried to arrest the suspect, who got into a vehicle and allegedly fled the scene, according to San Francisco police spokesman Carlos Manfreddi.

The pursuit ended at Fifth and Mission streets where the suspect struck two cars and injured at least two people before being taken into custody. One victim was transported to a hospital while the other was treated at the scene, according to police.

The suspect’s identity and photograph are not yet being released.
