SFFD Extinguishes One Alarm Blaze at La Boulange in Cow Hollow

San Francisco firefighters extinguished a one-alarm fire at a bakery in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow neighborhood early this morning, a fire spokeswoman said.

Smoke was reported in the area of La Boulange cafe and bakery at 1909 Union St. near Laguna Street at 2:43 a.m., according to San Francisco fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge.

Firefighters arrived at the cafe to find smoke coming from the building. Upon entering the building, firefighters located flames.

Talmadge said firefighters had the blaze contained at 3:35 a.m. and had it under control at 3:52 p.m.

No injuries were reported and Talmadge did not know whether anyone was working at the cafe when the fire began.

The bakery sustained fire damage and a neighboring jewelry store sustained smoke damage, Talmadge said.

She said fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
