Remember The Bold Italic? They’re back! If only in POG form.

Which one of yall made the Faustian bargain to bring back Bold Italic in exchange for taking Hannibal off the air?

In what is probably every San Francisco manic pixie dream boy and girl’s version of the Fallout 4 announcement at this past week’s Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, The Bold Italic is coming back! After its abrupt shut down in April of this year, we here at the SF Appeal are going to take a wait-and-see approach to the announcement. Will the hyperlocal tepid take content farm be akin the much celebrated 2005 revival of Battlestar Galactica or the ill-fated Galactica 1980? Will it make House Party look like House Party 2? Or will it just continue to churn out twee listicles about what it’s like being in your 30’s with a Burner roommate in this prequel dystopia fuckscape known as San Francisco?

It should be worth noting that at this point nobody from the original iteration is signed on to come back, and for all intents and purposes this is The Bold Italic in Name Only.

Regardless, your new benevolent take lords to thank (or side-eye at) are: Sunil Rajaraman, co-founder of online screenwriting platform cum freelance writer marketplace Scripted (not to mention writer of Medium pieces) and Sonia Arrison, author of 100 Plus: How the Coming Age of Longevity Will Change Everything, From Careers and Relationships to Family and Faith.

Cue facetious Youtube embed of Mark Morrison’s Return of the Mack.
