Pedestrian Struck by Hit-and-Run Bicyclist

A bicyclist allegedly fled the scene after striking an elderly pedestrian in San Francisco’s Mission Dolores neighborhood on Wednesday morning, police said.

The collision was reported at 11:24 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Landers Street and Alert Alley, just north of 16th Street. A man believed to be in his 30s was riding a bicycle when he struck an 81-year-old woman who was crossing the street, police said.

The elderly pedestrian suffered cuts and scratches to her face, but her injuries were determined not to be life-threatening, police said.

The bicyclist was traveling on Alert Alley and turning onto Landers Street when he struck the pedestrian from behind.

After hitting the pedestrian, the bicyclist allegedly fled the scene and has not yet been located, police said.

    SFBC will blame the pedestrian.

Things many SF bicyclists won’t do with these facts:
    1. protest about how careless bicyclists are a danger to others.
    2. demand police resources be spent to catch the bicyclist and be brought to justice.
    3. request slower speeds and stricter rules on bicycling.

Its as bad as those who deny climate change.
