Man Injured in Early Morning Shooting in Visitacion Valley Neighborhood

A 22-year-old man suffered a bullet wound to his lower back in a shooting early this morning in San Francisco’s Visitacion Valley neighborhood, police said.

The shooting took place at about 5:50 a.m. in the area of Schwerin Street and Sunnydale Avenue while the victim was waiting for a bus, police said. The victim heard a gunshot and discovered he was wounded, police said.

He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

The shooting left the man with injuries that are not life-threatening, according to police.

Police said the shooter used a handgun and is still at large.
