Woman Fatally Stabbed in Bayview Sunday Identified

A 36-year-old woman who was fatally stabbed in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Sunday morning has been identified, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday and found San Francisco resident Taja De Jesus on the steps of a building in the 1400 block of McKinnon Avenue near Lane Street, police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan said.

De Jesus was found suffering from multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, according to police.

After interviewing witnesses, officers determined that the suspect fled the scene on foot before police arrived at the scene.

The suspect was described by witnesses as a black man standing about 6 feet 1 inch tall, wearing a black jacket and shorts at the time of the stabbing.

Police did not provide further information regarding the suspect’s age or a motive for the stabbing.
