Man Shot in Ankle in Bayview District

A 19-year-old man was shot in the ankle in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Tuesday afternoon, police said today.

The shooting was reported around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Third Street and Hollister Avenue, according to police.

The victim was walking with his girlfriend when he heard a gunshot, then fell to the ground after being shot in his left ankle, police said.

The victim’s girlfriend flagged down a passing car and the victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.
