Suspect in Mission District Robbery Identified

A suspect was arrested for allegedly trying to rob a bank in San Francisco’s Mission District on Monday evening, police said today.

The 29-year-old man walked into a bank in the 2500 block of Mission Street and put a note demanding money on a bank teller’s counter at about 5 p.m., police said.

The teller hit a silent alarm and officers arrived shortly afterward to take the man into custody, police said.

The suspect was identified as Ryan Ford, police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatapandan said. Ford was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted robbery, burglary, forgery and a probation violation, she said.
