The victim of a minor stabbing this evening in San Francisco’s 16th Street BART station is refusing to cooperate with police, a BART officer said.
Lt. Steve Coontz said officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 8:02 p.m.
Coontz said the stabbing occurred on the street in the plaza area of the station, but the victim ran down to the concourse level and contacted a station agent, who called the police.
Coontz said three men in the plaza confronted the victim and slashed at him with a pocketknife, giving the victim a minor cut on his rib cage.
The suspects fled the scene and the victim ran into the station, Coontz said.
Coontz said the victim appears to be a juvenile, but officers aren’t sure because he’s refusing to identify himself to police.
“The victim is extremely uncooperative and won’t say anything about what happened or why,” Coontz said.
Coontz described the suspect who slashed the victim as a Hispanic man in his 20’s, with a thin build, wearing a dark beanie hat, dark sweatshirt and jeans.
Coontz said the investigation is ongoing.
