Two Men Injured in Separate Bayview Shootings

Two men were injured in separate shootings early Christmas morning in San Francisco’s Bayview District, police said today.

The first shooting was reported at 1:44 a.m. Thursday near Beatrice Lane and Lillian Court.

The 18-year-old victim said he approached the suspect to ask for directions and the suspect pulled out a gun. The victim reached for the gun and the suspect fired, injuring the victim’s finger, police said.

The suspect fled and remains at large. The victim drove himself to San Francisco General Hospital and is expected to survive, according to police.

Then at 3:22 a.m., another shooting was reported, this time near Third Street and McKinnon Avenue, police said.

The suspect, described as a man in his 30s, approached the 38-year-old victim, pulled out a handgun and shot him in the abdomen, according to police.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and is also expected to survive. The suspect fled in a vehicle and had not been found as of this morning, police said.
