A woman crossing the street in a crosswalk suffered a fractured skull in a hit-and-run collision in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood early this morning, police said.
The collision was reported at about 12:40 a.m. at the intersection of Turk and Taylor streets, about a block from Market Street, according to police.
Based on the preliminary police investigation, it appears the victim, identified as a woman in her 60s, was walking in a crosswalk when a white vehicle struck her from behind.
The suspect vehicle did not stay at the scene following the collision, police said.
The pedestrian was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with a fractured skull.
Police said her injuries are considered life-threatening.
