Man Stabbed in North Beach Expected to Survive

A man stabbed in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood Tuesday evening is expected to survive his injuries, police said today.

The stabbing occurred at Columbus Avenue and Broadway Street around 5:20 p.m.

The 36-year-old man told officers that the suspect ran up to him and stabbed him in the torso with a knife before he fled in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim fell to the ground where he cut his head, according to police.

He transported to San Francisco General Hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.

No arrests were made and no suspect description was immediately available this morning.
