Man Critically Injured in Hayes Valley Stabbing Dies at Hospital

A man who was critically injured in a stabbing in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley neighborhood last week has succumbed to his injuries, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The victim, identified as Malcolm Armstrong, a 20-year-old San Francisco resident, was stabbed in the chest and slashed in the throat in an attack reported shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Haight Street, police said.

Armstrong was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police and medical examiner’s officials did not say when the victim died.

Police have not released any information about a suspect in the stabbing or a possible motive for the attack.
