A 19-year-old man was arrested Thursday in San Francisco’s Mission District for allegedly vandalizing a San Francisco Police Department vehicle the night of the Giants’ World Series win last month, police said.
San Francisco resident Ryan Douglas London was arrested Thursday and is facing one count of felony vandalism for participating in the defacement of a police vehicle on the night of Oct. 29, according to San Francisco police Officer Albie Esparza.
The police vehicle sustained more than $10,000 in damage, San Francisco police Sgt. Monica McDonald said.
While numerous other acts of vandalism occurred throughout the city that night, including damage to 12 police vehicles, only London has been arrested so far, Esparza said.
Investigators with the San Francisco Police Department’s Special Investigations Division have spent the weeks since the World Series win combing through video evidence, which led them to London, according to McDonald.
On Thursday, London was arrested in the area where the vandalism occurred and was further identified through evidence found on his person at the time of his arrest, Esparza said.
