Giants Advance to Third World Series in Five Years

The San Francisco Giants have advanced to the World Series following a 6-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals capped off by a three-run game-winning home run in the ninth inning by left fielder Travis Ishikawa.

The Giants won the National League Championship Series 4-games-to-1 and will face the Kansas City Royals in the World Series, San Francisco’s third in five years.

The Giants previously won the title in 2010 and 2012.

Pitcher Madison Bumgarner, who started the series finale tonight at AT&T Park, was named the NLCS most valuable player following the game.
