Two Hospitalized After Driver Strikes Bike And Muni Bus

A bicyclist and minivan driver were hospitalized after a collision that also involved a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus in the city’s Richmond District this morning, a police spokeswoman said.

The crash was reported around 8:10 a.m. near Eighth Avenue and Balboa Street.

The minivan collided with a bicyclist and the vehicle then struck a 31-Balboa Muni bus, San Francisco police Sgt. Monica MacDonald said.

The Muni bus then continued and hit a parked car and another vehicle in the roadway, MacDonald said.

The bicyclist and minivan driver were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, she said. No one aboard the Muni bus was injured.

No other information was immediately available about the crash, which caused delays along the 31-Balboa line this morning, Muni officials said.
