SFPD Arrest Allegedly Armed Man in Market St Traffic Stop

San Francisco police officers this morning stopped a driver reported to have a gun on Market Street in the city’s Castro District, shutting down a section of the thoroughfare, police said.

Officers stopped the car near the corner of Market Street and Duboce Avenue at 9:07 a.m., police Officer Albie Esparza said.

Police confronted the driver with guns drawn in the center of the westbound lanes of Market Street, disrupting traffic in the area.

The driver was safely taken into custody, Esparza said.
