Man Has Camera Equipment Stolen at Gunpoint on Treasure Island

Two suspects stole a man’s camera equipment and other belongings at gunpoint on San Francisco’s Treasure Island on Wednesday night, police said today.

At about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report of a robbery near the intersection of Treasure Island and Macalla roads.

The 58-year-old victim told police he was returning to his parked vehicle after taking photos nearby when a male suspect approached him.

The suspect pulled out a handgun from his right pocket and pointed it at the victim while demanding his property.

The victim told police the suspect robbed him of his camera, tripod, cellphone and wallet.

The suspect then fled the scene with a second suspect in a dark-colored vehicle, police said.

The male suspects, one in his 30s and the other of an unspecified age, remain at large, according to police.

Anyone who witnessed the robbery or has information about the suspects is asked to contact police at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the start of the message.
