SFPD Needs Your Help in Identifying Violent Tenderloin Robber

San Francisco police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in a violent robbery of an 87-year-old woman in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood earlier this month that left her with several broken bones.

Police said the incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Aug. 8 in the 500 block of Leavenworth Street.

Police said the suspect knocked the victim to the ground and dragged her during the robbery.

The victim is still recovering from her injuries at a care center.

Police described the suspect as a black man with a skinny face who is 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and wore a knit cap and a dark jacket.

Police have released surveillance photos of the suspected robber and are asking anyone with information about the case to call Sgt. Michael Zhang at (415) 345-7300 or the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.
